Another Day, another hour, another minute

What are you waiting for?

We are all waiting for something. If you are a Christian, you are waiting for Jesus to return. You are quite blessed to have something like this to wait for. Yet, we take it for granted every day. Suddenly we aren't waiting for Jesus to return. Instead, we are waiting for the pizza in the oven to finish cooking. "I'm hungry, Jesus." We say without knowing. "I can't wait for my pizza to be done."

What are you waiting for?

We are all waiting for something. I am waiting for the bus. It must be late. "Hurry up, bus, I have somewhere to be!" I say. "I can't wait for the bus to get here - I have places to go!"

What are you waiting for?

Things to be ready and someone to take us somewhere. We wait because we are always in transition, but never quite ready. We wait because we need the pizza to be done first and the bus to arrive to take us somewhere. We wait because we tell ourselves we aren't ready for that time and place and we wait because we need someone else to get us there.

We wait because we are conquered. Why are you waiting? Because you are conquered. You are waiting for someone to set you free. Well, dear friend, you have already been set free.

Ephesians 5:8-20
For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light 9 (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) 10 and find out what pleases the Lord. 11 Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. 12 It is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. 13 But everything exposed by the light becomes visible—and everything that is illuminated becomes a light. 14 This is why it is said: “Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” 15 Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. 18 Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, 20 always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Wake up, o sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.

Make the decision you know you need to make. Stop making excuses for living the way you do. You have the light of Christ in you, live as a child of Light. Its a command, not a suggestion: Live as a child of light...in all goodness, righteousness, and truth.

YOU know what you need to do: understand what the Lords will is. Get off your bum and start making the most of every opportunity. I didn't say it, God's Word said it. Opportunity is ever before you. Make the most of it.

Wake up, o sleeper. Stop waiting for what will never come. Never will there be a time when you are ready to serve the Lord. That time is NOW. It is not coming. It is NOW. Stop waiting for someone to come and take you there...that is the life of the conquered person. Stop sleeping and wake up. The time is NOW.

There is no tomorrow. You will never be ready in the way you want to be ready. Now, Ill get right to it. Enough ambiguity.

Stop your self-pity. It is not you who live but Christ who lives in you. Stop your addictive habits. Christ has set you free. Stop being idle. The harvest is plentiful the workers are few. Stop your arrogance. The one who lives in you is meek and lowly.

Wake up o sleeper. Another day, another hour, another minute has past. How will you account for that time? Wake up o sleeper. The time is NOW.
